On May 7, we participated in the round table “Nutrition and Oncology: Standard Approaches and Individual Solutions”.

The event was held as part of preparations for the 4th International Scientific and Practical Conference “Healthy Nutrition from Childhood to Longevity” and became a platform for dialogue between doctors, scientists and patients. The goal of the meeting was to initiate systemic changes, which are already being gradually implemented.

The participants focused on the role of nutrition for cancer patients. They discussed:
✔️ modern approaches to nutritional support;
✔️ realities and challenges of implementing therapeutic nutrition in oncology institutions;
✔️ safety, quality of products and their role in cancer prevention.

The event was attended by leading experts in dietetics, oncology and gastroenterology, who shared their experience, raised complex and painful topics, and also discussed the prospects for reforming the field of medical nutrition in Ukraine.

The topic of reforming the nutrition system in health care facilities was particularly acute. It was found that the quality of the patients’ diet depends on:
▪️ the rate of recovery;
▪️ the results of treatment;
▪️ the quality of life during therapy and rehabilitation.
