The Verkhovna Rada adopted bill 5148, which provides for a ban on the use of palm oil in food products, in particular in baby food.
Thus, the bill provides for:
▫️improving the regulatory framework for issues related to the safety and quality of baby food;
▫️improving the quality of food products;
▫️harmonizing Ukrainian legislation in the field of baby food with the requirements of the legislation of the European Union member states.
The initiator of the bill, People’s Deputy from the “Servant of the People” faction Dmytro Solomchuk:
“This is an important step for Ukraine and its future, this is the health of our nation. From now on, the number of Ukrainian, natural, organic products on the shelves of our stores will increase every day.”
